CYBER MONDAY TALK

Hi friends!

Today is Cyber Monday and because we are against the consumerism times that we live, we’re not doing any discount, but we'll talk about transparency, sustainability and fair production.

At SIZ we care a lot about these 3 big concepts.

[ And we’d like to remind you that our
PLANT A TREE campaign is still on! ]

TRANSPARENCY

At SIZ, everything goes through us, the founders. As a small business we can check every part of the process and take care about the best way of doing things around here. That's why transparency is so important. Not only we know who makes our clothes but we also contact them directly, from fabric suppliers (that have certification for organic, sustainable and fair products) to our seamstresses. And we get sure they all work under the best conditions.

We’re glad to say that our suppliers and subcontracted workers are more than that, are our friends and we can count on them as they can count on us.

You can see more about transparency, the process and the price breakdown here.

SUSTAINABILITY

As you know, we are all about sustainability, from our fabrics to our production and shipping.

Nowadays, we all have been attacked with Greenwashing. As a true green brand, we feel really upset when we see some brands making a misleading or unverified claim about the environmental benefits of their products. And this can happen in a small business our a big company.

More and more we can find new “sustainable brands” that don’t show how they’re sustainable. When we see a brand like that, we try to contact them and ask how they’re sustainable. Sometimes they have a good reason to claim to be sustainable, but other times they don’t know what to reply to us or their answers are not good enough.

There are many ways to be sustainable. In fashion, for example, the clothes don’t need to be from organic fibres. If they are recycled, off-cuts or deadstock, they are as sustainable as organic.
Other way to be a sustainable fashion brand is having a local production. For example, we can go by walking to some of our suppliers, and we do it all the time, avoiding ride our car.

If you see a brand that claims to be sustainable but works with polyester, silk, nylon etc. they’re not truly sustainable brands/collections. When you buy something, make sure that the brand is really eco-friendly and which efforts they’re doing for a sustainable world. Be conscious and selective.

FAIR PRODUCTION

We believe fair production is so important as all the rest. We can only have great products if they’re made with love and care, and rewarded accordingly.

That’s why we work with small seamstress ateliers and suppliers that use a fair production method as well.

We are proud to say that our clothing is produced ethically and our prices reflect the true costs of production. We rarely do sales our big discounts because the production price is not as cheaper as the ones from non ethical companies and our markup is a fair one, so our products come to you for a fair price.

Yes, is true, our clothes are a little more expensive than some standard high street companies, but we believe it’s worth it. What do you think?
